I'm a trained photographer who started a new career path in 2016 

when I began to play with clay. I had always been attracted to the material because of its organic qualities and unpredictable results.  My studio soon became a playground for experimentation, an ongoing learning process.

My attention to detail and a passion for color led me to develop simple shapes and a custom palette of glazes that together formed the aesthetic of Chou Jewelry.  My love for Mother Earth provides inspiration and fuels the interior process of creation.  Born and raised in Montreal, I now live and work in Oaxaca, whose temperate climate allows me to work in my outdoor studio year-round.
